Hugo Ateo was born in Mexico City and began acting at age 6. He received extensive acting training at various schools including the prestigious National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA) in Mexico. In 2018, he starred in Xavier Durringer's Paradise Beach alongside Sami Bouajila, Kool Shen, Seth Gueko and Tewfik Jallab.
