Guyviaud Joseph (pronounced "giv-e-odd") is a first-generation Haitian-American, born and raised in Elizabeth and Linden, New Jersey. The middle child among several brothers, he attended Penn State University and graduated with a Degree in Business/Marketing. During his undergraduate years, he trained with the late theatrical director Dick Caram, studying The Suzuki Method. He also starred in several theatrical productions, including the role of Troy in "Fences," written by August Wilson. After college, he worked at CBS News as an Account Executive for several years, eventually leaving his position to pursue his passion as an actor. Guyviaud went on to train with notable acting coaches throughout the New York City area, currently with world-renowned acting coach Susan Batson, who has also trained several Academy Award-winning actors. Guyviaud began to snag lead roles in several music videos early in his career, graduating to various short films and web series, including "RedDot," "Heroes of Hip-Hop," "Money & Violence," and "Makeup to Breakup," which have each been successful with their cult followings. His first role in a significant network series came with a co-starring role in "Unforgettable" in 2014. He then booked six television co-starring roles, supporting roles in four features, including "How to Tell You're a Douchebag," which received the Grand Prize Jury award for best screenplay at ABFF and nominated at Sundance Film Festival. Along with a supporting role in the blockbuster feature "John Wick 2," he booked six commercials within a year and a half. Between filming, Guyviaud would take on other roles in production and has worn several hats behind the camera. He has served as Assistant Director for many shows, short films, commercials, and music videos. With his most recent piece, "P.O.V: Perception of Violence," Guyviaud Executive-Produced and played the lead role. The film has screened at The Cannes Film Festival with the Creative Minds Group program and was the Official Selection at Martha's Vineyard AAFF and Newark IFF. Guyviaud is most well-known for his recent role as Biscuit on Season Four of "Power;" he has several other projects in the pipeline, including the series, "Sole Kings," based in Brooklyn, New York, in which he will play the role of Larceny, an ex-convict and longtime friend of the protagonist. Guyviaud is planning to eventually found his own production company along with an educational institution.
