Edward was born in Nottingham, UK, and later grew up in the nearby town of Grantham. After leaving school, he studied medicine at the University of Nottingham, and has since worked as a doctor in both the UK and Fiji. Whilst training to be a doctor, Edward performed in a number of plays in the Nottingham area, before deciding to change career and train professionally as an actor.
